There’s something about great barbecue that just feels like summer, and Gator Jon’s BBQ Stand definitely got us excited for the season ahead. We ordered the smoked brisket dinner and the burnt ends. Both were absolutely phenomenal! The meat was tender and deliciously smoky. I especially appreciated that it wasn’t overly salty, which can sometimes be the case at other spots. The flavor really speaks for itself. Between the quality of the food and the laid-back vibe, it’s the kind of place you’ll want to return to again and again. Great DON’T MISS THIS BBQ I’ve just experienced and will be going back to weekly! Pulled into Kelly’s Country Store just for one thing but saw this bbq spot closing up and the BRISKET sign could not be ignored! Zipped right over and an so glad I did! They were out of brisket (OPEN FROM Wed to Sat FROM 3pm until the FOOD IS GONE) but I got SIMPLY FANTASTIC PULLED PORK - not overpowering with spice and no oily grossness - it needed no salt or anything, though I added my habanero bbq sauce to the bun. Not sure if it was end-of-day generosity but I got enough meat for FOUR SANDWICHES! The POTATO SALAD which was so EXCELLENT my finicky daughter ate half of it! BUT I have to put this out there - that CORNBREAD MADE THE MEAL! Didn’t even need butter! After trying nearly every bbq spot in WNY, I’m so glad I didn’t give up!
